There are a lot of websites out there that present data on Windows Device Drivers. The following are some sites that provide a lot of technical data and stay up to date on the latest techniques. Windows Hardware and Driver Central This is the Microsoft site for driver developers, check this site often for new updates and material. OSR Online This is Open System Resources site for articles, tools and samples for Windows Device Drivers. This is the biggest site for Windows Device Driver data outside of Microsoft. Sysinternals A collection of utilities, information and source code for Windows. Note: the source is available for reference purposes use in your projects requires a license. NDIS.com This is PCAUSA’s site on developing Windows Network Drivers.
There are several good blogs that cover kernel and related issues, in particular: A Hole In My Head Doron Holan's musings on kernel mode drivers and other nibbles and bits. Doron is one of Microsoft’s Kernel Mode Driver Framework (KMDF) team. His entries cover KMDF and regular Windows device drivers. Pointless Blathering Peter Wieland's thoughts on Windows driver development, and occasional rants about computing in general. Peter is the Development Lead for the User-Mode Driver Framework. Michael Howard’s Web Log Discussions of issues of security that every developer should understand. Michael is co-author of Writing Secure Code. CRAIGROW Craig Rowland's thought about the Driver Test Manager. Craig is one leads in this effort at Microsoft. NDIS Musings Thomas Devine's comment and insights into the NDIS.
